The Vision fo Christian Literature Outreach is to provide a range of Christian Resources to Prison Inmates in all Australian States. We would utilise our CAP points to purchase these resources and distribute them to those in our prisons who need to know Jesus so desperately. "Who is He, Lord, that I may believe on Him? John 9:36. Christian Literature Outreach provides support to Chaplains so that they are able to, either directly or indirectly, provide Inmates with resources which assist them in meeting their spiritual needs, to show them that God loves them unconditionally & to replace the non Christian / pornographic material available in most prisons. By doing this we can help to reverse the downward spiral of depression & lack of self esteem. We are constantly seeking ways of gaining approval for the increase of Christian Literature into our Correctional Centres. Our History: In 1998 Brother Pat Lynch, Chaplain of Parklea Correctional Centre New South Wales, requested some devotionals for the inmates to read, there commenced the ever increasing demand for suitable Christian Resources. This commenced the monthly supply of 'The Word for Today' devotionals to all NSW Correctional & Juvenile Justice Centres. Shortly afterwards 'Our Daily Bread' & 'Every Day with Jesus' devotionals & a range of Radio Bible Class Discovery Series booklets with over 100 titles, which include character building, anger & violence management, were added. Christian books, novels, inspirational booklets, comics, tapes & CD's were added along with the offer, by the national Bible Society, of a free Bible to all who filled in & posted a 'Reply Paid' card.
